Kibbutz Revadim began its journey in the Gush Etzion bloc and was named after the stone terraces in the mountainous landscape. In Hebrew the word “Revadim” means layers. The bloc fell in 1948 and after the battles and the liberation of many members of the kibbutz who had been taken prisoner, Kibbutz Revadim was moved to the lowlands near the city of Gedera. So while there are no more terraces, the kibbutz itself is like a terrace itself made up of a strong community and layers of history.

Visit Kibbutz Revadim

Alongside the branches of agriculture, dairy farming and industry (jewelry factory) and thanks to the expansion that has taken place in recent years, quite a few small entrepreneurial businesses have sprung up on the kibbutz, initiatives that invite passers-by to taste the kibbutz life. And there’s lots to taste! On the kibbutz you’ll find The Manteka home bakery and the Shibolim vegan food truck.

You can visit Inbar Alezraki’s Jewelry design studio and the Shlomit’s ceramics studio (and even arrange for workshops by prior arrangement). And if you feel going out into nature, you can rent a bicycle or golf cart from Idan Ofan and go pedaling to the oldest layer of Revadim – the remains of the biblical city of Ekron in Tel Miqne.
