Kibbutz Nahshonim, located in the center of the country close to the Road 6 Nahshonim/Elad Road offramp. The wind vane seems to point towards the kibbutz from all directions creating a variety of challenges and opportunities.
In the east, the kibbutz is on the border with the Palestinian territories of Judea and Samaria. It is the southernmost of the kibbutzim belonging to the Drom Hasharon Regional council. Sometimes the kibbutz is a little like a northern neighborhood of the ultra-Orthodox community of Elad. And in the west is the sea and Kibbutz Nachshonim (not to be confused with Nachsholim, which is located on the beach), is connected to the ocean by its name. Nachshonim originates from the name of Nachshon Ben Aminadav, president of the tribe of Judah who was, according to the tradition, the first to jump into the Red Sea before the sea split in two.
Thus the name Nachshonim symbolizes the taking the first step, pioneering. So maybe there isn’t a beach at Nachshonim, byt the kibbutz was one of the first to establish a water park called “Nachshonit” that has been operating for many years and today serves mainly the ultra-Orthodox public from the city of Elad. Men separately. Women separately. In the kibbutz. Kosher and closed on Shabbat. And thus, the secular kibbutz continues to lead the way in an effort to harness the variety of challenges for the purpose of social, economic growth and strengthening the community fabric.
The kibbutz’s dining room is open to the general public at noon. In addition, the kibbutz has the Nachshonim stable where you can go horseback riding in any direction you want.
