The Kibbutz Lotan ecological tour begins with the story of establishing the kibbutz and acquaintance with the eco-Jewish lifestyle chosen by its members as a way of life. The tour continues on to the Eco-Fun park that displays eco-friendly building, setting up an ecological garden and producing gas for cooking using the home organic garbage.
After a visit to the garden and tasting fresh or harvested fruit or vegetables, the tour proceeds to the Bustan neighborhood – a demo neighborhood that gets all of its electricity from solar power, gas cooking from organic waste, solar-powered ovens and even a washing machine powered by pedaling on bicycles. The demo neighborhood serves as a residence for students from all over the world who come to the Ecology Campus.
