Kibbutz Hamaapil is located in the center of the Israel. In 1938, a group of “Maapilim” (illegal immigrants) from Poland, Austria and Germany formed two groups. The first and foremost, a settlement group that settled in the eastern Hefer Valley and in its name commemorates the pre-state illegal immigration enterprise (“Hamaapil”) of the Jewish country.
In the same year, and alongside the existential struggle for the establishment of the state, the illegal immigrants also found time to establish another group – a volleyball team that over time became one of the most successful volleyball teams in Israel.
Today, the kibbutz is surrounded (almost) entirely by avocado groves and continues to engage in agricultural industries, including a dairy farm located on the kibbutz, and a plastic manufacturing factory. On the kibbutz there is also an organic farm that grows and delivers to the area organic produce.
