Kibbutz Grofit is a cooperative kibbutz in the southern Arava, located near the city of Eilat. The kibbutz was founded as a Nahal settlement in 1963 and received its name from the Arabic name of Nahal Grofit – Jrofina. The meaning of Grofit in Hebrew is a young branch that is cut from the bulk of an olive or sycamore tree for new planting.
There are approximately 300 residents in Kibbutz Grofit, including about 60 children. The kibbutz is located on a pastoral hill with a breathtaking views overlooking the Jordan mountains.
