Kibbutz Givat Haim Meuhad is located in the center of the country near Hadera. The kibbutz, which began as a kibbutz called “Gimel” (the third letter in the Hebrew alphabet), expanded to Givat Haim named after Chaim Arlozorv, and when the great ideological split came in 1951 it became two kibbutzim – one called the “Meuhad” and the other “Ihud”.
After the big split, the members decided to maintain the partnership in the Gat juice factory (later Prigat) and did so with extraordinary success until the factory was acquired by Coca-Cola Israel (finally in 2018). In the field of sports, too, they did the same, joining forces on the Hapoel Givat Haim Club, which in the 1950s and 1960s was an “empire” of working-class settlement. Water polo, swimming, basketball, outstanding athletes, soccer players, chess players and many more emerged from Givat Haim.
In the spirit of the long-standing heritage of culture, holidays and festivities, the musical tradition of Givat Haim Meuhad resonates afar. The kibbutz has been operating the Givat Haim Meuhad Music Center for many years, which is a beating heart for music education and cultural activities throughout the area.
In addition to the music center, you’ll also find the Givat Haim pub, one of the most special places to see performances. Artists from the entire musical spectrum perform there, from the margins of the alternative scene to mainstream performances.
