Kibbutz Ein Tzurim, a religious kibbutz in the south of Israel, began its journey in Gush Etzion bloc in the Judean Mountains south of Jerusalem. When the bloc fell in the War of Independence, the kibbutz members were forced to relocate. Originally, the kibbutz was designed by artist Meir Ben Uri in the shape of a symbolic Menorah meant to the emblem of the State of Israel on the ground. The pattern of the Menorah has not been preserved but the community continues to spread its light far and wide.
The kibbutz has the Yaakov Herzog Center for Jewish Studies – an educational institution that studies the origins of Judaism and Israel from a pluralistic point of view. The Tamar Ariel “Tzahali” preparatory school is also located in Ein Tzurim, and is the first pre-military preparatory school for religious girls.
In Kibbutz Ein Tzurim, there is a country lodge that offers accommodation to the religious public and to anyone who wants to experience the Sabbath, holidays and special events in a traditional kibbutz atmosphere. You can also visit Hilit’s Art Studio and Workshop.
