Kibbutz Beeri is located in southern Israel in the northwestern part of the Negev Desert near the border with the Gaza Strip. The kibbutz is currently evacuated.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the holiday of Simchat Torah, at the beginning of the surprise attack on Israel, more than a hundred well-armed terrorists from the terrorist organization Hamas infiltrated the kibbutz. They overcame the emergency squad and first responders who were called to the scene, and carried out a massacre of the kibbutz residents, in which more than 90 of the kibbutz residents were murdered (Beeri Massacre). Over twenty residents were kidnapped to the Gaza Strip by Hamas, some of them were murdered after their abduction.

Residents of Kibbutz Beeri announced in November 2023 that they chose to move to a temporary neighborhood in Kibbutz Hatzerim near Beer Sheva.
Prior to the war, Kibbutz Beeri was known for its cultural events and Beeri’s communal singing events resonated throughout the Negev.
Kibbutz Beeri also has a highly successful printing company called “Dfus Beeri” that prints checks, envelopes, photo albums and what not? Kibbutz Beeri is considered one of the richest kibbutzim in Israel.
