Galit Lev Alpert spent three years studying to be a Chocolatier at a chocolate academy in Belgium. When she returned to Israel, and ultimately based her “chocolate farm” on Kibbutz Degania Bet, not far from Afikim, the Kibbutz where she was born.
The chocolate farm is located in an old stone building (formerly a cowshed). A visit is not only informative and creative, but especially it’s highly delicious. There’s a café and a boutique offering chocolates for sale and production can be observed through large glass windows.
There are several different chocolate workshops and each workshop uses different products, some adapted for small children (starting at age 3) and some for adults.
You can drop by Galita during operating hours all days of the week. Advance booking is necessary for workshops. There’s also a Galita branch on another Kibbutz – Tzuba.
