The Elad Theatre was founded by Boaz Dan and Dana Yitzhaki in memory of fallen soldier, Elad Dan, the elder brother of Boaz.
Boaz, born on Kibbutz Eilot, studied theater and work in some of Israel’s leading theaters. Dana, who performed at the Cameri at the time, heard from Boaz a lot about the opportunity in the south and the two decided to found a theater. They contacted the Eilat Regional Council and the Eilat Municipality, which adopted the initiative and immediately began to support the theater.
After their first year, during which they produces four plays that were directed by various directors, the two decided to change direction and set up a creative ensemble in the south. They contacted Shay Pitovsky, a unique Israeli theater artist, who moved to the area to develop the theater with them.
Their rich repertoire includes adult shows, children’s shows, street shows and group theater workshops.
